We have already filled up our schedule for the entire month of January, but not only that, we have also booked two amazing Yoga teacher trainings for the month of August. We make mention of this now, so that you take time to think about your summer holidays, or holidays period.
oga Garden has been formulating for two solid years. During this time, so many things have changed, improved, ended, shifted and evolved. Both in our lives, and YOURS. How to create a schedule that is both reflective of the new Yoga scene that is emerging, and also inclusive of what we in Brno are accustomed to? This process has been humbling. What we have created are two solid schedules in both rooms.
We hope that our accessible fees, allow you to check out both rooms, and in that discover all that has been created for all levels, of practice.
Since we are totally new, we ask you for your feedback, and patience. Things will be changing and we aspire to align with a schedule that is committed to your practice needs.
We have a new reservation system which we are also getting to know. In the reservation system, you can sign up for class and also pay for classes.
At Yoga Garden, one of our major pillars is compassion. One way of transcending this compassion is by creating a practice that is also off the mat, and free of charge. It is an opportunity, to practice when we aren't capable or willing to go on the mat, but still want to be mindful, and active as well as in a collective. This winter our off the mat project is Knitting! We are meeting 5 times a month to knit! Knitting has similar effects as meditating, and we would like to take advantage of this, by inviting more people who otherwise would stay at home, to come and knit at our studio! Make new friends and drink tea.
Yoga asana is not the only form of movement we have at Yoga Garden. We are extremely excited to have Krystof teaching Movement every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7am-8am. Zoja Smutny will be teaching really fun dance classes on Friday night. This gives us the opportunity to introduce the Yogalaties classes in the hot room every workday from 6:30-7:45. This is a fusion of yoga pilaties and hot room! It is also no secret that we are hosting PUNK joga studio at Yoga Garden every Wednesday evening 19:30-21:00pm come join the one and only vibrant Danca Cechmanova in her generous classes. Workshops will be taking place on Saturdays from 14-17pm Their prices will vary. We encourage you to check them out too!
Since you made it all the way to here, we would like to take this time to thank you for your practice, and attendance. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the main room, and hot room, are both silent rooms. This means, that once you enter, you mindfully place your mats down, and kindly stop chatting, and or whispering. We believe that this is one of the leading examples of yoga culture. Holding space for silence. Naturally, we invite you to laugh, talk and drink tea in our big living room area, which is specifically designed for this.
Our community classes are a wonderful way to come to our studio, and if you are having financial difficulties or simply would like to participate in our team, by being with us more, we offer an exchange program, where you come and work for us a five hour shift, and for that weekly shift you get a free week of yoga.
Finally, we would like to take this moment, to describe our teaching methodologies. We highly believe that your gaze in your practice ought to be on you, and not the teacher. Your focus, and attention need to be inwards, and if we keep doing the asanas with you, the practitioner ends up trying to emulate the instructor, rather then be themselves. We also want to be better to focus ON YOU, and see how we can better help you be at ease in the poses, be it by bringing you a block, or by modifying the practice.
We want to be as helpful as we can in getting you on your mats. Not only have we created a gorgeous space, downtown for you, with wonderful teachers and accessible prices, but we also have top of the line mats, blocks and props. Have you booked your class yet?
If you are new to yoga, or if you are intimidated by the idea, come try our hatha practice it is ideal for beginners. Are you not sure if you like yoga asana? Come try our level 1, this practice covers all foundational poses with clarity and description, also offers you modifications. Level 1/2 is for people who are familiar with Yoga, already know the asanas and like less instruction for each pose, level 2 is our most advanced practice, and therefore it is wise not to go there as a newbie. We have yin practice both in the hot room and big room. Soon to come are our restorative classes.
Finally, if you are a yoga teacher, and haven't a place to practice, we have a self practice for teachers each day at 10am. This is a great time to bounce ideas off of other teachers for sequencing and feedback in general.
