ABOUT
YG Book Club: Olive Kitteridge
We’re starting a new monthly book club at YogaGarden! Each month, we’ll choose a book to read and then meet at the studio to talk about it over a cup of tea.
For our first meeting, we’ll be discussing Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. Set in a small town in Maine, the book brings together thirteen interconnected stories exploring loneliness, ageing, grief, family tensions, hope and the unexpected places we find comfort.
You don’t have to finish the whole book to join us. Read as much as you can, bring your thoughts and questions, and come ready for a relaxed conversation with fellow readers. Our first meeting will be hosted by Domi after the 10:00 morning YG class.
Tea included.
* Language note: The book can be read in either Czech or English, but our tea & book talks will be led primarily in Czech 🇨🇿. Not fluent yet? Come anyway! It's a cosy, no-pressure way to practise your Czech, and everyone is welcome.

Domi
I first encountered yoga as a form of compensatory exercise that helped me relax before and after modern fencing competitions. Gradually, however, fencing—with its highly competitive nature—took a back seat, and I started attending yoga classes more and more often instead of fencing training.
From the beginning, what drew me to yoga was the focus on the present moment and the merging with the breath. Both help to let go of the worries we encounter during the day while giving us the strength to face them at the right time. I aim to share this awareness of breath and mind in my own classes as well.
